A Widow’s Heart
Mission statement
A Widow’s Heart exists to support widows through the grieving process by providing a network for immediate connection to each other.
Our goal is to experience a life of resilience through encouragement, hope, and practical resourcing.
Did You Know?
Widow’s Fog is REAL. Science shows that the part of our brain that gets us through everyday tasks is interrupted by the trauma of loss. If you are forgetting things or cannot concentrate, you are not alone.
You are the author of your grief journey. Being a widow can result in awkward situations with well-meaning people. Take what is helpful and leave the rest.
59 years old is the average age of widows in the USA.—We were shocked too!
50% of widows will leave the church they attended with their spouse. Many of us choose to go back but it takes support and time.
Everyone’s grief is unique.
Each one of us had a different marriage and different circumstances regarding the loss of our husband. Although that experience is distinctly our own, we do have a few things in common. Most importantly, we are hurting.
In grieving today, no one has to do it without support. Whether you have been a widow for two years or two days, we created this ministry for women to have a safe place to have their experiences and feelings received by other widows who are precisely equipped to understand and support each other. In our grief journeys, we discovered that sharing makes us feel less crazy!
